Electric Honda EV-Cub to be in production by 2018
Enthusiastic Honda Cub lovers in Japan are getting ready for an electric version of the popular motorbike by 2018
Honda Motor Company plans for the Electric Honda EV-Cub to be in production by 2018. Honda is the largest motorcycle manufacturer in Japan, at its peak in 1982, Honda manufactured almost three million motorcycles annually.
The new Electric Honda EV-Cub will feature a single electric motor located in the hub of the rear wheel, with the battery pack located low in its frame.
The concept Honda Cub was unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. Cub lovers from the rest of the world will have to wait a little longer for the model to hit their markets.
The Honda Super Cub remains one of the most popular motorbikes in the world, having sold over 87 million bikes in 15 countries since its introduction in 1958.
